Cell Therapy FAQs
What is ICBR Cell Therapy?
What does Cell Therapy do?
Cell therapy stops and reverses the biological aging process by treating and preventing the causes of age-related disease on the molecular, cellular, and biochemical levels by natural, holistic means. Instead of using medication to mask disease symptoms, cell therapy helps you look and feel younger and have more energy because your cells have what they need to reproduce correctly, instead of replicating previous damage.
What is ICBR?
ICBR, the International Clinic of Biological Regeneration, has been in business since 1981. ICBR’s mission is to bring the same world-class cell regenerating and full-body rejuvenating ovine (sheep) stem and embryonic cell extracts as those used by royalty and heads of state in the most expensive Swiss clinics since the 1930’s to the Americas, but at an affordable price.
What is ICBR Cell Therapy?
ICBR Cell Therapy is a natural anti-aging peptide treatment for the whole body. A time-tested medical approach to support the whole body and regenerate all organs and systems. It contains cell extracts specifically for: the immune system, the endocrine system, the circulatory system, the central nervous system (includes the brain,) the musculoskeletal system (includes joints and connective tissue,) the digestive system (includes the intestinal mucosa,) and all organs of the body. In addition, it has umbilical mesenchymal stem cell extracts that help wherever they are needed most.
The peptides are derived from organically fed, all-natural sheep stem and embryonic cell extracts. Nothing else is added.
How is it administered?
ICBR Cell Therapy is given via 8 intra-muscular injections administered in a single office visit. The painless injections are usually in the gluteal muscles, where there are few sensory receptors, but it can be delivered to any large muscle.
Radioisotope tracing shows the body moves the cell extracts to the target organ in 30 to 90 minutes.
Ingredient List
The eight glass vials contain only aseptic (sterile) lyophilized (freeze-dried) amino acid peptides (extracts of the nuclear cellular material) of the organs listed below. No preservatives. Nothing else is added.
- Umbilical cord – Mesenchyme, or stem cell, extracts.
- Endocrine (Female or Male) – Pituitary, Adrenal, Thyroid, Hypothalamus and either Ovary or Testis
- Articulation – for joints and connective tissues – Cartilage, Bone Marrow
- Digestive – Liver, Stomach, Intestine
- Immune System – Thymus, Spleen, Bone Marrow
- CardioVascular – Heart, Artery
- Central Nervous System – Cerebrum, Diencephalon, Mesencephalon (Mid Brain), Medulla Oblongata
- Total Organ Mix – all organs
All extracts are from embryonic sheep, except the umbilical cord extracts. The mother ewes (sheep) are specially monitored throughout their lives to be donors.
The box of eight ampoules comes with a brochure, injection instructions for the doctor, and post-injection instructions for the patient.
Where, when, why, and how often?
Why would I get it?
- Most people get it once a year to look and feel younger and healthier and have more energy.
- Some people get it once to help heal after surgery, an accident, a cardiac event, radiation or chemotherapy, or a severe illness.
- Others get it to balance and support all systems of the body as part of their annual wellness program, or to boost the effectiveness of other, more targeted, healthcare programs.
It helps all your organs and glands regenerate and heal, so you can live as well as you can for as long as you can. It is foundational to your overall wellness program and supports all other natural and medical wellness activities.
Will it help if I have ____?
It’s not designed to heal any one thing. It’s designed to help the whole body and all its systems, so you look and feel younger and have more energy.
Where can I get it?
ICBR has a program to help patients find a local doctor to give the injections. If you’d like this free doctor referral service, call or text Sue at 1-650-451-3010. Often, the patient’s own MD, ND, or DC will give the injections, once their questions are answered.
Anyone who is licensed to give injections can administer the therapy. It’s a simple procedure of 8 IM injections administered in a single office visit. Instructions for the doctor are included.
ICBR has doctors and nurses who give it by appointment in Los Angeles, Spokane, Miami, Chicago, Charleston, San Antonio, Honolulu, Wailea, and Aiken S.C.
Outside the U.S., it’s available in Coronado and Boquete, Panama.
For appointments in Panama, WhatsApp Sue at +507 6790-9573
Only available where import laws permit. Not available in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, et. al.
When can I get it?
You can schedule a time at your convenience with a local doctor.
How often would I get it?
Most patients get it annually, but it can be given up to twice per year.
What if I get it only once or stop getting it annually?
Some patients aren’t interested in anti-aging, but they want it once to help recover from an accident, illness, cardiac event, radiation, chemotherapy, or surgery, or to boost their immune system and all other systems to improve their overall health. It’s up to the patient how often they want it.
If the treatment is not continued, no matter how often one has had it, time and aging continue, but the gains from the treatment are not lost.
Can it help with an upcoming surgery?
Yes. Operations weaken the whole body and take a toll on the immune system. ICBR Cell Therapy strengthens the immune system. It can be administered before or after surgery to help shorten the recovery phase after surgery.
Who else has done it?
Since 1981, patients have been getting it annually… some for 10 years, 25 years, and over 40 years. You can see videos of some longtime patients here: https://tinyurl.com/ICBRtestimonials

What's the source of the cell extracts?
The extracts of stem cells and embryonic (progenitor) cells are from Bavarian mountain sheep, specially raised for that purpose in Germany. The herds and lab are monitored per the official guidelines of the German Federal Health Office for the production of aseptic cellular therapeutic preparations and for the health of the donor animals. ICBR only purchases registered and approved finished medical products from Germany.
Sheep? Aren’t animal transplants rejected?
Entire organs transplanted from animals into humans have been rejected, but not mammal tissues or cells. For example, hernia meshes and valves made of bovine and porcine tissue have been implanted in humans for decades until the recent creation of synthetic tissues.
Many supplement ingredient labels (like Standard Process brand supplements) list extracts from bovine and porcine organs.
The use of animal organs to heal humans is called Opotherapy or Organotherapy. It has been practiced for thousands of years. Native peoples eat animal organs as medicine to regulate and improve bodily functions. For example, chicken liver is eaten to increase red blood cell count. If our bodies rejected animal tissues, we couldn’t eat them.
Why sheep? Are they organically fed & exposed to no toxins?
Domesticated mammals are used in cell therapy because domesticated animals are easier to raise and monitor throughout their life.
Sheep are the classic choice for cell therapy because they are hardy, strong, and disease-resistant, and because some religions forbid pork or beef.
Bavarian mountain sheep are particularly suitable as organ donors. They are reared far away from adverse environmental influences in the high mountains, where fully organic feeding is ensured throughout the year.
The veterinary and laboratory monitoring is carried out in accordance with the official guidelines of the Federal Health Office for the production of aseptic cellular therapeutic preparations and for the health of the donor animals. All cell products are produced in a GMP environment in Germany.
Unlike human mothers, the sheep are monitored throughout their lives by medical personnel. Sheep don’t smoke, drink, or experiment with intoxicants.
What are other names for Cell Therapy?
Cell Therapy in the past was called Live Cell Therapy or LCT. In the 1930’s and 40’s, the freshly slaughtered pregnant animal was in the operating room, and the still-live whole cells were transferred to the patient. Hence the name “Live Cell Therapy.”
Over the years, safer, more hygienic, and more precise methods of extracting and lyophilizing (freeze-drying) sterile, aseptic cell extracts have been developed.
The freeze-dried cell extracts do not require refrigeration. This makes the aseptic cell extracts easy to store, transport, and safely administer.

Safe, All-Natural, and Painless
Is it safe?
Yes. The cells are aseptic, meaning “free from contamination caused by harmful bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms.” They are packaged according to German Health Regulations in a GMP environment. The sterile glass vials are sealed with rubber stoppers held in place by aluminum crimp caps that prevent contamination in transit.
An allergy test is always given before the treatment.
Are there any side effects?
It’s completely safe, all-natural, and has no long-term side effects – since 1981. We have patients who have been getting it annually for 10 years, 25 years, and over 40 years. You can watch videos and hear some of their stories here: https://tinyurl.com/ICBRtestimonials
Although some patients say the side effects are looking and feeling younger, that’s the point!
Can you get any disease from sheep cell extracts?
No. Pregnant ewes are carefully monitored and tested before they are selected as donors.
The cell extracts are so small (300,000 daltons) that they cannot contain any bacteria, the smallest of which is 40,000,000 daltons.

Why are the injections painless?
The 8 intra-muscular injections are almost always painless. A special, thin needle is used, so you don’t feel the needle going in, and it goes into a muscle where there are few sensory receptors. You may feel a slight pressure as the liquid enters the muscle, where it is quickly absorbed and transported to where it’s needed.

Radioisotope tracing studies have shown that the body recognizes each type of cell extract and moves it to the target location (heart to the heart, liver to the liver, etc.,) usually within 90 minutes.
Is it all natural?
Yes, it is entirely embryonic and umbilical sheep cell extracts, no other substances. No drugs, no chemicals, no pesticides, no preservatives, no cloning of cells in vitrio, no genetic modifications.
Be cautious if offered a similar-sounding product. Others on offer in the Americas contain drugs and addititves. Check the ingredients. ICBR Cell Therapy contains only freeze-dried embryonic and umbilical sheep cell extracts, nothing else. For your safety, health and well-being.
Legality
Is it legal in the U.S.?
Yes. In 1993 the U.S. law was changed to allow completely natural substances that do no harm. ICBR’s cell therapy is entirely natural and does no harm. It consists of amino acid peptides extracted from carefully raised and monitored embryonic sheep, freeze-dried and aseptically packaged according to the standards of German health authorities. No additives, no preservatives, no genetic modifications. Just freeze-dried peptides from healthy sheep.
It’s available in the U.S. through medical doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors or nurses licensed to give injections in their state.
Is it FDA approved? Have there been clinical trials?
No. It’s an entirely natural substance that can’t be patented, so no one has paid for the expensive clinical trials needed for FDA approval.
It has been legal and in use since the 1930’s in Switzerland and other parts of Europe. ICBR’s clients have enjoyed the rejuvenating benefits of cell therapy since 1981.
Why Sheep, not Human?
Why not use your own stem cells?
- You already have your own stem cells. Moving them to a different location in your body won’t help you to feel younger or have more energy.
- Consider how your age affects your stem cells. The production and potency of stem cells decrease with age. Aging-induced deterioration of stem cell function plays a key role in the disruption of normal physical functions in aging-associated disorders. As stem cells age, their renewal ability deteriorates and their ability to differentiate into the various cell types is altered. You can see this regenerative power decline with age, as injuries in older individuals heal more slowly than in childhood.Injecting your own stem cells in a specific location can induce more rapid healing at the site of a known injury, for instance: a bone fracture or torn ligament. Orthopedic doctors use stem cells to get professional athletes back in the game more quickly after an injury. But professional athletes are usually under 30.NMDP is the U.S. national registry for bone marrow and stem cell donations. NMDP prefers donors to be young – between 18 (when they can legally agree to a voluntary donation) and 35 years old – because studies have shown that stem cell donations from older people have a lower rate of success.
- Consider the recovery required to relocate your own stem cells. It takes 8 vials of your blood to make 1 vial of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma.) Yet bone marrow is considered the best source of one’s own stem cells. It can be painful to recover from the bone marrow extraction because a hole is made in the bone so a large needle can be inserted.
No matter which part of the body you take your stem cells from, that part of the body will have to recover from the extraction, and the injection site will be getting stem cells from a body that is your age.
If you want to heal an injury in a specific location, injecting your own stem cells may speed the healing process in that location. But if what you want to heal is systemic, and the entire system needs to be healed, ICBR cell therapy helps all the systems in your body.
Embryonic cells have the potency and energy to replicate rapidly and correctly. That same energy and ability that grows a fetus into a baby can help all your organs heal and regenerate, so you look and feel younger and have more energy.
Why aren’t human umbilical stem cells better?
Human umbilical stem cells are more expensive and harder to transport, store, and obtain.
Unlike human mothers, sheep donors are monitored by medical personnel throughout their lives to ensure they will produce safe, healthy cells for people. Sheep don’t smoke, drink, or experiment with narcotics.
Until recently, human umbilical cords were considered the bio-waste of childbirth. Now umbilical cords are saved, sold, and tested for suitability for harvesting human stem cells.
The use of human stem cells is considered experimental worldwide. The use of sheep embryonic and stem cell extracts has been legal and practiced in Switzerland and parts of Europe since the 1930’s.
For people who meditate or are emphathically or psychically sensitive, another advantage to sheep cells is: there are no human genetic-line subtle impressions.
Who else offers sheep cell extracts?
Although doctors in England, France, and Germany offer this cell therapy, the elite Neihan’s clinic http://www.paulniehans.ch/clinic.htm, and rival Clinique La Prairie are the most famous. Both are in Switzerland and have been serving celebrities, royalty and heads of state for 90 years.
ICBR’s cell therapy is from the same German lab that has been supplying La Prairie since the 1940’s. Today Clinique La Prarie charges $53,000 for the treatment, including a week’s stay in their hotel, as described here: https://www.cliniquelaprairie.com/en/revitalisation-premium#anchor-297.
The Swiss Clinique La Prairie’s “CLP extract” contains sheep liver cell extracts, but not extracts for other parts of the body. The liver is the easiest organ to regenerate. When the liver is healthy and removes toxins well, the whole body becomes healthier.
Pricing
What does it cost?
Clinique La Prarie in Switzerland charges over $53,000 for sheep liver cell extracts and a week of monitoring in their hotel.
ICBR Cell Therapy includes not just liver cell extracts, but cell extracts for the whole body and all its systems for around $3,200 – $3,500. Exact prices vary by doctor. The treatment requires a single office visit and no monitoring.
Why is ICBR’s so inexpensive?
Dr. Tom Smith, co-founder of ICBR, after recovering from a near-lethal radiation overdose, wanted to make this natural and powerful therapy available to everyone, not just the ultra-wealthy. So he and his wife Judi spent their lives making it available to people, since 1981. Before then, it was available in very expensive European clinics: predominantly in Switzerland, Germany, and London. It’s been legal in Germany and Switzerland since the 1930’s.
What if another brand is less expensive?
If you are considering another brand, please check the ingredient list carefully. Google any words you don’t know and make sure there are no additives, preservatives, cortisone variations, drugs, chemicals, or other things in it that you might not want in your body.
Also, compare the length of time that the product has been in use with ICBR’s. Do they have videos of clients who have used it for over 25 years?
https://tinyurl.com/ICBRtestimonials
ICBR Cell Therapy is the most comprehensive, all-natural, and safest that we know of on the market – since 1981.
Will my insurance pay for it?
No, but most doctors take credit cards. It’s usually $3,200 – $3,500, depending on the doctor.
Storage and Delivery
What’s the shelf life?
Without refrigeration, the shelf life is two years, or three years with normal refrigeration. ICBR orders cell therapy sets frequently, on demand, so patients always receive fresh cell extracts.
Must it be ordered in advance?
Some doctors choose to keep a few sets in stock. Typically, patients pay their doctor, who will order the cells for them. ICBR keeps a few in stock and regularly reorders. Doctors in the U.S. usually receive the sets, male or female, sent via FedEx from California, within a week of ordering. If they must be sent from Germany, it can take 2.5 to 3 weeks.
Contra-indications
Any contra-indications, who shouldn’t have it?
ICBR’s Cell Therapy should not be given during an acute infection, while undergoing chemo or radiation therapy, or to children. The full list of contra-indications is:
- Infectious diseases (to protect the medical personnel).
- Allergy to saline or sheep (an allergy test is included).
- Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation. Wait, as those treatments will decrease the effectiveness of the cell therapy.
- Strictly vegan preferences.
- Although doctors have successfully treated children with cell therapy, the volume of ICBR’s Cell Therapy is not appropriate for a child.
What if I’m undergoing cancer treatment?
If the cancer treatment is all-natural, like a nutrition-based treatment, cell therapy will help by supporting the immune system and all systems of the body.
However, heavy IV antibiotics and cancer therapies like chemo and radiation are designed to kill cells. Treatments with a counter-purpose to cell therapy will negate some of the positive effects. It’s best to wait until any cell-killing cancer treatments are complete. At that point, cell therapy can help the body to heal and recover from the harsh cancer treatments.
What reduces the success?
Toxic lifestyle choices like narcotics, excessive alcohol, smoking, etc. will offset some of the benefits.
What if I have estrogen or testosterone sensitivity?
Anytime either estrogen or testosterone is contra-indicated, it is best to give the opposite sex endocrine ampoule. There are no hormones in the injections, but ovary and testes cell extracts will maximize the patient’s potential for producing hormones. If a man receives ovary extracts or a woman receives testes extracts, they will have no effect, as there is no corresponding organ in their body. The endocrine ampoule should not be omitted because it supports other parts of the endocrine system: Hypothalamus, Pituitary, Adrenal, and Thyroid.
Is ICBR’s Cell Therapy for me?
It’s for anyone in their 40’s or older, without the contra-indications listed above, who wants to:
- stay healthy, young and vibrant
- keep your immune system strong
- give your body the best cellular support possible
- to slow and reverse the aging process
without drugs, chemicals, additives, preservatives or toxins.
The Injections
What should I do and expect after I get the injections?
After the treatment, it’s recommended to take it easy, be as stress-free as possible, get lots of rest, and avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and proteolytic enzymes like Wobenzyme for at least 5 days. For a week after the injections, avoid strenuous exercise and saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or anything that would raise your body temperature.
If you have a red, warm, or itchy area near the injection site, it will pass within 36 hours and can be soothed with a cool, wet towel. Most people do not experience this, but it is normal if you do.
A small percentage of people feel sleepy for a few days after getting the injections. This is a good sign that your body is healing. Sleeping more if you feel sleepy will help, as the body heals during sleep. Usually by the end of the first week, if not immediately, people feel a noticeable positive difference.
When will I notice improvement?
Some people feel positive changes immediately, others recognize welcome changes over the next 4 to 6 months. Most people experience improvement within the first 6 weeks.
Why the buttocks? Can it be injected elsewhere?
The injections are into the largest convenient muscle in the body, so there is less chance of the injection touching a nerve or capillary. If the buttocks is not convenient, for instance, a wheelchair-bound person can be injected into the thigh, deltoid, or any large muscle.
Are the injections painless?
The 8 intra-muscular injections are almost always painless. A special, thin needle is used, so you don’t feel the needle going in, and it goes into a muscle where there are few sensory receptors. You may feel a slight pressure as the liquid enters the muscle, where it is quickly absorbed and transported to where it’s needed.
How Does it Work?
How do the extracts get where they are needed in the body?
Radioisotope tracing studies have shown that the body moves the injected embryonic cellular material to the corresponding part of the body: heart to the heart, liver to the liver, etc.
One of the eight vials contains extracts of umbilical stem cells that can benefit any part of the body. The body moves them to wherever they are needed most.
How does cell therapy work, in simple language?
As we age, our cells become damaged, due to toxins, disease, impact, etc. Normally, our body reproduces cells with the damage of the parent cell. The older we get, the less frequently our cells replicate.
The embryonic cell extracts help the body regenerate in three ways.
- Instead of reproducing damaged cells, the embryonic cell factors, nuclear material, messenger RNA, and exosomes help the body create more whole, complete, and healthy new cells, rather than replicating damage. It’s like having spare parts to use to rebuild correctly.
- Because embryos have the energy and pre-disposition to rapidly grow into a baby, the cell extracts help your cells replicate not only more correctly, but more rapidly, speeding the process of healing and regenerating.
- The elimination of damaged, mutated, and potentially risky cells is supported and strengthened. Because the cell now has means to replicate correctly, it will not replicate nor keep cells that could lead to disease out of a lack of other options.
ICBR’s cell therapy includes both umbilical stem cell extracts that can help any type of cell, and specialized embryonic progenitor cell extracts for every system in the body.
For medical professionals, the above description could be said as:
The embryonic progenitor cell extracts help to avoid the rate of DNA transcription errors in RNA at the time of making proteins, avoid DNA copying errors in the synthesis interface (S interface) prior to mitosis, and reinforce the apoptosis mechanisms to eliminate mutated or potentially risky cells that generate the development of various diseases. These biological cell extracts have the ability to induce a gradual recovery of the energy production capacity of cells and the ability to correctly produce the proteins necessary for the replacement and maintenance of the body’s organs and tissues.
The History of Cell Therapy
What’s the history of Cell Therapy and implanting sheep cell extracts in humans?
Paul Niehans was a distinguished Swiss surgeon and Director of the Endocrinology clinic in Clarens, Switzerland. Before practicing medicine like his father, he had been a doctor of theology. During the nineteen‐twenties, Dr. Paul Niehans became an authority on the endocrine glands (which produce hormones) and their successful transplantation.
In 1931, Dr. Niehans was sent for in desperation by a clinic in Lausanne. A surgeon, operating on a woman to remove her thyroid, had also removed most of the tiny parathyroids in error. This causes the calcium level in the blood to fall, resulting in a the cramp-like condition called tetany, which can be fatal.
Niehans rushed to the scene, considered her too ill for a full parathyroid transplant, and instead injected her with ground-up fragments of parathyroid from a freshly killed calf. She recovered and Cell Therapy was born.
In 1959, the 75-year-old woman, Neihan’s first Cell Therapy patient, wrote to Dr. Niehans from Bern to renew her gratitude and say she “never felt better.”
Dr. Paul Niehans became a renowned Swiss surgeon who specialized in regenerative medicine. He refined regenerative cell therapy in the 1930’s, using embryonic cells from Bavarian mountain sheep, which are known to be disease-resistant. At that time, the pregnant ewe was in the operating theater.
Dr. Neihans worked with a lab in Germany to lyophilize (freeze-dry and vacuum pack) cells, which made them more convenient for storage and transport for other doctors’ use. But he himself continued to use freshly harvested cells, likening the difference to fresh vs. powdered milk.
In 1953, Pope Pius XII requested Dr. Neihan’s cell therapy treatment in the Vatican when he was dying and his own doctors couldn’t help. After Dr. Neihans treated him, Pope Pius XII lived another four years. In gratitude for the treatment, Pope Pius XII named Dr. Neihans to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in 1955. You can still find his listing online today, at:
https://www.pas.va/en/academicians/deceased/niehans.html
Many heads of state received the cell therapy that Dr. Neihans pioneered, including: Charles De Gaulle, Emperor Hirohito, members of the British Royal Family, Sir Winston Churchill, King Ibn Saud, Konrad Adenauer and the King of Morocco.
Hollywood celebrities went to clinics in Switzerland to enjoy the benefits of this expensive but age-defying treatment, including Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Charlie Chapman, Gloria Swanson, and Marilyn Monroe, along with creatives like Pablo Picasso, W. Somerset Maugham and Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann.
